| What we will do |
Term1
Airline Meals: National Curriculum project, linked to the DT
area of study. Pupils will research and develop a meal to be served
on an airline..
Term 2 :- The basic Food Hygiene Certificate: A 12 week course
to learn principles of storing and using food safely. This culminates
in students sitting the exam set by the Institute of Environmental
Health Officers (I.E.H.O).
Term 3 :- Outdoor Eating Project: the final National Curriculum
Project. Pupils will create a brochure of ideas for an outdoor eating
range to be launched by a major supermarket.

| Assessment |
- practical work will be marked out of 20
for skill, method and cleaning up, theory will be set regularly
and marked according to content
- on going assessment is carried out with
a theory exam at the end of which is marked by I.E.H.O.
- a mark sheet will be given at the outset
which clearly sets out the work to be done and the marks that
can be achieved
- and overall level for the work achieved
over Key Stage 3
