| What
we will do |

Term 1:- Food
on the go-Pupils will look at designing
and packaging a snack product that can be eaten on
the move, while investigating the impact of packaging
on the environment. Pupils will have the opportunity
to complete their silver award for the Sainsburys Taste
of Success award scheme.

Term 2:-Pupils
work individually and in groups to develop and manufacture
a new cake product. They will investigate foods from
around the world using authentic ingredients. There
will be an opportunity to complete the gold award in
the Sainsbury’s scheme.

Term 3:-
Textiles – Pupils will learn how to create
simple products such as pencil cases using fabric and
basic design skills to create an appliqué design
to go onto a product. Pupils will be taught the use of
a sewing machine and simple pattern cutting.

| Assessment |
- practical work will be marked out
of 20 for skills, method and cleaning up, theory will
be set regularly and marked according to content.
- a mark sheet will be given at the
outset which clearly sets out work to be done and the
marks that can be achieved.
- Textiles-an overall mark will be given for machine
skills learned and final item.
