Aims for the Year
To help pupils develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of: To enjoy making and listening to music to use and understand how music can express ideas and feelings to perform, compose and appraise music to the highest standard possible
What we will do
perform and compose music in different styles how music can be used for expressive purposes World Music-African music & spirituals keyboard skills and basic music theory how patterns are arranged in music a range of vocal music
Assessment
formal and informal assessments including: grades A-E numerical results, a verbal description and pupil self evaluation of work. assessment may also include audio tape recording and video recording of performance and composition work.
Ways you can help
support your son/daughter with homework programme, especially research support them with final presentation of project work encourage a variety of musical experiences at home encourage your child with regular instrumental practice encourage your child to enjoy music through visiting concerts
