| Aims for the Year |
- offer every pupil, whatever his/her level of sporting
ability, the opportunity to participate
- create enjoyment and fulfillment through sport both
on the sports field or on the sideline
- encourage the social spirit in Physical Education
- develop the ability to work successfully as part of
a team
- develop creative and aesthetic experience through
movement
- develop the appreciation of the concepts of fair play,
honest competition and good sportsmanship
- help each student to fulfil their sporting potential
- promote importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy
life.

| What we will
do |
At present all pupils will have
at least 1 term covering the following sports; trampolining,
swimming, gymnastics, athletics, badminton, basketball,
cricket, tennis. Boys will also cover rugby, football,
softball and circuit training. Girls will also cover
netball, hockey, and rounder's. These lessons will include
aspects of health, hygiene, fitness and sportsmanship

| Assessment |
- pupils’ attainment will take place throughout
each sports module
- the following areas will be assessed: acquiring and
developing skills; selecting, applying and combining
skills; evaluating and improving performance; knowledge
and understanding of health and fitness
- self assessment takes place throughout each sporting
activity

| Ways you can
help |
- please encourage your son/daughter
to take part throughout the curriculum
- help them with their organisation
as some will need up to 3 kits in one day
- label and name all kit
- send in a letter if they are unable
to participate
- ensures your son/daughter wears appropriate safety
equipment ie gum shield for hockey and rugby, shin pads
for hockey and football.
