Mock exams
Road Safety presentation
Work related Learning/Enterprise days
Dear Parent/Guardian
Mock exams
Attached is a copy of the year 11 mock examination timetable,
which has already been issued to pupils. A copy of this will also
be on the school website. Please note exams begin at 9.00 am,
1.30 pm or at the time specifically listed on the sheet. Pupils
should be lined up outside the venue for their exam at least 10
minutes prior to this time. They should have all necessary equipment
and this should be in clear bags. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited
and would result in expulsion from formal exams and cancellation
of any result. If you have any questions regarding this matter
please contact Paul Cotier by phone at the school or email, pcotier@hallmeadschool.com.
Road Safety presentation
On Wednesday 14th November, on completion of their mock exams,
year 11 pupils will be taken by coach to the Queens theatre for
a powerful and thought provoking presentation on road safety by
the London Fire Brigade. The presentation is specifically targeted
at this age group who will soon be old enough to drive and may
already be passengers of other young drivers. This event is compulsory
and pupils should have already returned reply slips to the school
office.
Pupils should be lined up in tutor groups on the tennis courts
by 12.40 to embark on coaches at 12.45 pm, wearing school uniform.
They will be returning to school by coach and will be back at
around 3.20 pm.
Work related Learning/Enterprise days
On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November your son/daughter will
take part in two Enterprise days. Hall Mead has always endeavoured
to ensure pupils are prepared for life beyond school through a
range of activities including; Work Experience, Stubbers and the
PHSE curriculum. These Enterprise days are an addition to that
program and are in response to government initiatives. Your son/daughter
will participate in a series of activities covering personal finance,
problem solving, interview technique, producing professional curriculum
vitae and enterprise activities as well as seeing presentations
form local sixth form colleges on personal organisation at college,
adapting to life at college and the nature of vocational courses.
I am sure you will agree these will be very useful and help our
pupils in their life beyond Hall Mead.
Pupils should wear school uniform for these
days and come prepared for a normal school day, having record
books, pens and pencils etc. Morning and afternoon registrations
will be as usual, although the day will finish at 3.05 pm. The
program pupils will undertake is organised in tutor groups; all
tutor groups will have access to the same activities over the
course of the two days. Their timetable will be issued by their
tutor before the end of this week and will be available on the
school website from Friday 2nd November.
If you have any questions regarding the Enterprise
days please contact Paul Cotier at the school by phone or email,
pcotier@hallmeadschool.com. Furthermore, if you would like to
help with the interview activities as part of an interview panel
we would very much appreciate volunteers.
If you are able to support us in this please contact Paul Cotier
before Friday 10th November.
Yours faithfully,
Paul COTIER
