| In order to mark The Schools 40th birthday and
the beginning of this new millennium, we launched what we believe
is a unique website during the summer/autumn of 2000.
Hall Mead's creed is headed 'A Family
for Life'. The School regards itself as one very large
family and its ethos reflects this in every respect. Pupils and
Parents speak of 'the Hall Mead Family'. Many former pupils stay
in contact and we know that many more would like to. A significant
number of Old-HallMeadians move back into the area so that their
children can attend the School.
The Family for Life website will combine a consciousness of Hall
Mead's history, the continuity which the School represents, and
its contribution to the future, using up-to the minute technology
as befits its Technology College Status.
The aims of the Website are as follows:
- To facilitate contacts between Old-HallMeadians and between
them and the School
- To maximise support for the School and its pupils from Old-Hallmeadians
- To provide information which will contribute to the production
of a history of the school
- To provide educational opportunities for current pupils, in
particular by allowing them to contribute to the running of
the Website.
We intend through this initiative, to establish a database containing
details of as many of Hall Mead's pupils and staff- in total,
about 7,500 over the 40 years - as possible. The information in
the database will, of course be protected and only accessible
by members of the 'family'.
A lifetime subscription of £10 allows you to register your information
on the database and to update it when-ever you wish. It will also
give you access to news of other Old-Hall Meadians and, of course,
developments at the School.
We hope that you will want to appear in the 'Family
for Life'. If so, then please request a form from the
School Office, complete and return the forms together with the
fee, giving as much information as you wish, in an envelope marked
"Old-Hallmeadians". A cheque for £10 should be made payable to
"Hall Mead School Fund'. |
