APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT

We intend to recruit two apprentices this year, for a July/August start date in Unilever Bestfoods, London Road, Purfleet.

The manufacturing technician apprenticeships are four years in length. The first year will be predominantly at college, and the remaining three will consist of a series of placements on manufacturing lines/areas, and in the engineering workshops in different disciplines. After this period, if you have met our requirements, and there is a suitable position available you will become a manufacturing technician.

The starting salary will be approximately £11,825 which will increase every year based on satisfactory performance. After the four year apprenticeship, if you are appointed, your salary will be approximately £22,305 (plus a shift allowance of £7,290 if appropriate).

You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C and above including Maths, English and science, or an equivalent technical qualification or NVQ. You should be a good team worker, reliable with a good attendance record, and enthusiastic. You should also show initiative and have good manual dexterity.
