Mentoring at Hall Mead |

| The peer support team is made
up of 22 pupils from Year 9 and 10.
The photos were taken at a recent mentors presentation assembly
and show with certificates awarded by the National Open
College Network.
In September our main aim was to help the new Year 7 pupils
settle into school and feel part of the community. Our ongoing
focus is to help all pupils improve their self confidence,
study skills and personal relationships.
This is done through one to one mentoring meetings and
small group discussions. Its often good to talk.
Some pupils like to sit and chat generally to the peer
mentors. Ideas for Blind Date and the “Healthy Snack
day” were hatched during Fridays in January. Games
and activities are always available and we usually enjoy
a chat about anything to do with cars.
Pupils wishing to “drop in” on Fridays can
usually be catered for but its best to book an appointments
at least 2 days in advance by seeing Mrs Pennock in M4.
