The exam comprises of 2 exam papers and a piece of coursework.
Paper 1 is worth 40% of the total marks.
Section A - Geographical skills
Section B – People and the natural environment (Rivers,
tectonics and ecosystems)
Paper 2 is worth 35% of the total marks.
People and the Human Environment (Population, Agriculture and
Managing resources and tourism)
The coursework is worth 25% of the final mark. The coursework
will be based on a fieldtrip to Epping Forest at Loughton where
students will carry out a river study. The coursework title is:
‘Do the characteristics of Loughton Brook as you move further
downstream?’
