Welcome to the New Year. Just a few details
to let you know about what is happening in relation to
careers over the next few weeks.
• All the information that
will be read out to you by your form tutor concerning careers
will also appear on the Hall Mead web site under the heading
careers, please let your parents know so that they can
keep up to date with the latest developments.
• College Transfer
forms need to be completed as soon as possible. Once you
have completed the rough draft, then ask your form tutor
for the actual form, and complete, then hand in to your
form tutor. Even if you think you are not going to college
it is worth filling the form in, you are guaranteed a place
if you apply by the middle of February-half term.
• The Careers
room is open at lunchtimes, where you can read literature
about qualifications, courses available etc. The computers
will be up and running in a few weeks time. Opening times
12.40-1. 15.1 will be in attendance to give advice and
guidance.
• Interviews
with Futures will be starting next week. I will be giving
you more details when I receive them.
• Later on this term there
is to be meeting on Modem
Apprenticeships at the
Town Hall. If you and your parents are interested in attending,
then I NEED TO HAVE YOUR NAMES BY FRIDAY 16™ JANUARY.
I have details about the scheme in the careers
room, but basically they are work-based training with an
employer. You are paid either a wage- if you are employed-
or a training allowance. The apprenticeship will involve
working towards a National Vocational Qualification, Key
Skills and a technical certificate.
• If you require
further information about any aspect of careers then please
do not hesitate to contact me
