HALL MEAD
LIBRARY AUTHOR VISIT. |
|
 |
It was with great pleasure that we welcomed P. J. Murray,
author of The "Mokee Joe" books to our school on
the afternoon of Monday lSth October. Years seven and eight
were gathered in the Great hall for the afternoon to be entertained
by Peter. He told us about his life as a teacher and how he
used to entertain his children and nieces with scary stories
about "Mokee Joe" It was only a few years ago that
his niece reminded him of the stories that prompted him to
put pen to paper!

|
Thousands of young people can now share the stories. Next
year the three books are being made into a film. Peter told
the pupils that if he could do it, so could they, and to work
towards fulfilling their dreams. We hope he inspired a few
of them!

He returned the next day to sell and sign his books and lots
of the pupils had a chat with him. He was happy to pose for
photos with them all.

|
It was certainly a day to remember for us, and hopefully for
all the pupils too.
